Lens Ball lenses are near perfect polished spheres of
glass or other transparent materials used to focus light from laser
sources into fibers and to couple light from fiber to fiber by matching
the N.A.(numerical aperture) of the balls to the fibers. Balls can
be machined into drums for higher fiber array pitch and mounting alignment
accuracy. |
